I worked on the swim offering for Target's yearly capsule collection for Pride Month from 2020 to 2023. In that time, I collaborated with the Target design team and Humankind to evolve the collection into a forward-thinking gender-inclusive celebration of the LGBTQIA+ community, increasing SKU count 400% and adding Kids swimwear by 2023.
Notably, I was a driving force in the increased incorporation of gender-inclusive fit, utilizing my knowledge and experience designing for a queer customer. I was instrumental in creating the controversial collection from 2023, including the "tuck friendly" styles created with transfemme customers in mind, and worked with an in-house graphics team to design the specialty hangtags showcasing features and benefits. In keeping with the collection name, Iām extremely proud of the work my team and I did to bring product to an underserved customer, despite the controversy.
